Urban security in Europe - Recommendation 197 (2006)

In order to get a better picture of trends in crime and strategies for crime control in Europe, the European Resource Centre for Urban Security has been set up in order to improve the collection of quantitative and qualitative data on crime, improve knowledge of existing crime prevention strategies, capitalise on initial and further training for the various partners in prevention policies, foster partnerships through information and advice and foster public debate in Europe on questions of security and violence.
